Can I select multiple pages?

Yes. Click a page to select it. Hold Shift and click another page to select a range. Hold Ctrl (Cmd on Mac) to toggle individual pages.

Is my original file modified?

No. Your original file is never modified. A new PDF is created with the pages in your chosen order.
